This page comes before "The One" page. It's a little blurry...sorry!

Journaling says: In October 2002, I flew down to San Diego to look at ceremony and reception venues. But, my mom and I decided it would be fun to try on dresses. We weren't going in to buy, but just to see what styles fit me and to see if I could narrow down the styles I liked. Of course, I researched all the dresses on David's Bridal's website and found about 5 that I liked. One day while I was working in the Liberal Studies office, I called to make an appointment for the weekend I would be home. I also called Chariss to see if she wanted to come along and help me out. Like everything about the wedding, it was an early day. First, we went and looked at about 3 places for the venue and then we made our way to David's in Vista. We were too early so we ate a nice lunch together at Sizzler next door. After we ate, we realized I probably shouldn't have eaten such a big lunch. It was too late. Luckily, it wasn't very crowded during my appointment time. It really was a nice feeling knowing it was my turn to come in and try on the beautiful white dresses. As soon as we walked in I felt like a bride, someone greeted us and we signed in and registered. They paged my consultant and she met me at the front. She was so impressed that I had all my dresses I wanted printed out already. I also let her pick out some that weren't on my list. My mom and Chariss grabbed a seat on the green leather couch while I put on the tight bra and huge slip and while I lifted the heavy dresses over my head over and over again. I remember that the first dress I tried on was one I really loved. It was a 2 piece ivory and rum colored dress. Of course, it didn't impress me and we moved on to several other dresses I thought would be the ONE. Either the sleeves were too tight, or the straps cut into my skin, or the dress was so heavy it made my back hurt.
Here are a few of the dresses I thought would be the ONE:
1. I didn't want an ivory dress, but I loved the back of this dress. There were buttons all down the back and the straps were braided. The front was too plain and high cut up to my neck.
2. This is the style I always thought I would wear. It was very nice and looked pretty, but I could barely lift my arms.
3. My mom loved this dress and said it was the ONE, but the straps wre cutting into my shoulders.
4. I had always wanted a dress that wrapped on the side, but this one just didn't do it for me. I also didn't think a strapless gown would stay up on my small chest.
